Engage 24 Hour PED Restart

If you encounter merchants experiencing random restarts throughout the day on either a P400 or V240M PED, it is possible that the 24-hour PCI reboot setting within the operating system is causing this issue. Verifone have implemented this setting to eliminate malware from memory and minimize the chances of data being compromised. Unfortunately, this setting cannot be disabled. However, we have the capability to adjust the restart time to occur outside of the merchant's operating hours following the steps below.

1- Press 1+5+9 at the same time on the PED to enter the System Settings.

2- Scroll down to Control Panel and enter then scroll to Sysmode and enter, then finally to Supervisor and enter. You will prompted with a password which should be 2277942.

3- Once in the Supervisor menu, scroll down to Administration and then Date/Time.

4- When in Date/Time, you will see a field for "24/48 hr reboot:". This can be set to any time of day to accommodate the restart for the merchant as best as possible. If this is not set, the PED will restart every 24 hours based on the last manual restart.

5- Press X to go back to the main screen.
